Fast Facts
Millikin University is a private, independent, four-year university in Decatur, Ill. with approximately 2,300 students in traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and master’s degree programs. The university has four colleges and schools including, the College of Arts and Sciences, The College of Fine Arts, the College of Professional Studies and the Tabor School of Business, and 19 Big Blue NCAA Division III Athletic Teams, varsity and junior varsity sports and intramural teams. Millikin has a long-standing history of academic excellence. When James Millikin founded the university in 1901, his theory-practice approach to education was unique. Today, Millikin takes this idea a step further by introducing “performance learning” – a unique approach to higher education that builds the confidence to succeed after graduation. Because of this approach, it is no surprise that Millikin students have a history of success after graduation. Millikin University is devoted to its diverse student body, with centers for Multicultural Student Affairs and International Education to serve as valuable resources for and advocates of the school’s underrepresented populations. Both centers regularly communicate with the Millikin campus community to keep them updated about multicultural events, conferences and other activities.
