Fast Facts
Commitment to diversity is just one of the many features of Notre Dame de Namur, a private, catholic-affiliated, co-educational university.  Founded in 1851, the university also offers students an intimate learning experience — fewer than 1,000 undergraduates attend, enabling students to meet their classmates, know faculty members and form lasting relationships more easily, and smaller classes give more personal attention. Notre Dame de Namur is located in the pristine community of Belmont, Calif., located between San Francisco (30 minutes to the north) and San Jose, and close to major highways and transportation as well as the ocean and mountains. The university is made up of three schools, the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and Management and School of Education and Leadership, and there are more than 20 student organizations reflecting academics, cultural, professional, social and service groups, as well as athletics and a lively arts and entertainment scene.
