Fast Facts
Founded in 1867, Morehouse College is the nation’s only private, historically black, four-year liberal arts college for men. The mission of Morehouse College is to develop men with disciplined minds who lead lives of leadership and service. The college recognizes this mission by emphasizing the intellectual and character development of all of its students. Additionally, the college assumes special responsibility for teaching the history and culture of black people. As such, the college seeks students who are willing to carry the torch of excellence and who are willing to pay the price of gaining strength and confidence by confronting adversity, mastering their fears and achieving success by earning it.

Morehouse is located 2 miles from downtown Atlanta, conveniently located in the historic West End community and a member of the Atlanta University Center; the nation's largest consortium of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
