Fast Facts
Rooted in the tradition of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and the patron saint of teachers, Saint Mary’s College of California is a private liberal arts institution situated in therolling hills of the Moraga Valley, 20 miles east of San Francisco. Now in its second century of providing education in the liberal arts, the sciences, business administration and economics, St. Mary’s is one of the oldest colleges in the West. At St. Mary’s, students are encouraged to embrace complexity, contemplate their place and purpose in the world and undertake a searching examination of self, spirit and society.
