Fast Facts

With over 175 years of excellence in education, Illinois College remains true to its founding as a private, liberal arts institution. Recognized as a “Best Buy in College Education” by Barron’s and ranked as one of the most competitive institutions in the nation by Peterson's Competitive Colleges, Illinois College is a strong value in private education. A sizeable endowment, over $115 million, allows the College to keep tuition costs down and provide outstanding educational opportunities and facilities for students. In fact, Illinois College is identified by U.S.News and World Report as an institution that graduates its students with one of the least average amounts of debt in the Midwest.

Typically three quarters of our students choose to reside in college housing, including single-gender, coed, suite-style and apartment living options, along with two foreign language houses. Living in the campus community provides students with some of their most memorable college experiences.

Founded in 1829, Illinois College is a private, four-year, liberal arts college, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and United Church of Christ and distinguished as a Phi Beta Kappa institution..
