Colby College, one of the country’s oldest independent liberal arts colleges, is a small, private college located in Waterville, Maine. Colby is a national leader in research and project-based undergraduate learning and has won awards for campus internationalization and environmental studies and stewardship. Colby’s focus on diversity and internationalization is renown; 70 percent of Colby students study abroad and 66 countries are represented on campus. Colby’s Oak Institute for the Study of International Human Rights supports international Oak Scholars, promotes interaction among international and American students on campus and brings a human rights practitioner to Colby for one semester every year.
