  Benedictine University is a small, private university in the Catholic and Benedictine tradition. The school prides itself on the individual attention professors give students, and the relationships formed between faculty, staff and students on campus. Benedictine University is dedicated to the education of students from diverse ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds and is nationally recognized for its commitment to diversity. The school’s liberal arts and professional education programs are guided by the Roman Catholic tradition and Benedictine heritage and prepare students for life after college as informed, active and responsible citizens and leaders. Benedictine University is proud to welcome students from 44 states and 16 countries who bring a variety of backgrounds to the campus community. Thirty-two percent of the freshmen are minorities with Asians comprising the largest group at 18 percent. Located 25 miles outside of Chicago, the city is easily accessible to students.
