Fast Facts
Founded in 1894 as a ministry of the Mennonite Church, Goshen College continues to work toward a student body comprised of Christ-centered students who are global citizens, passionate learners, compassionate peacemakers and servant leaders. A required study abroad program that has a 40-year tradition embodies the core value of global citizenship. Students spend a semester abroad in countries such as Peru, Nicaragua, China, Germany, Senegal, Jamaica and Cambodia. Students interested in environmental stewardship and sustainable living can take advantage of Goshen’s 1,189-acre Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center, which encompasses a natural sanctuary and a sustainable village. The Ministry Inquiry Program and the Camping Inquiry Program provides another hands-on opportunity for learning, placing students in three-month internships in the fields of camping, ministry and service.
