Fast Facts

The founding member of the seven schools in the Claremont University Consortium, Pomona College is considered among the most prestigious liberal arts colleges in the country. Pomona prides itself in its small classes and in its comprehensive liberal arts curriculum, which begins with a freshman seminar designed to help students develop critical thinking, analysis, and writing skills. The college is in close proximity to Los Angeles, as well as to famous beaches and ski resorts.

Pomona’s vision is to provide students with a liberal education, to foster academic excellence, to keep classes small and discussion lively, to employ a brilliant and accessible faculty, to give opportunities for engaging research in world class facilities, and to promote a sense of community. Pomona College is a four-year, private liberal arts college founded in 1887.
